Charity raffle is icing on the cake for Gibson Hewitt

Business News News

Over Christmas we had lots of fun raising money Woking & Sam Beare Hospice with our Christmas cake raffle.

We specially commissioned a stunning traditional Christmas cake, complete with handmade festive decorations, to be raffled off in aid of the charity’s latest appeal.

Tickets to enter the raffle were quickly sold off to friends, clients and staff, with the winning ticket belonging to the firm’s own Insolvency Administrator Glyn Richards.

In total the firm raised £28 through the raffle for the hospice, which will be added to our grand total for our chosen charity.

It was revealed earlier this year that the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge would unfortunately have to close down, prompting the charity to launch its appeal for £3.1 million of funding to support its new hospice in Woking.

Lynn Gibson, Director at Gibson Hewitt, said: “We thought this would be an excellent opportunity to raise more funds for our chosen charity Woking & Sam Beare Hospice.

“The cake was a real baking masterpiece and Glyn has enjoyed sharing it with friends and family. We are delighted that the money we raised has gone to such a wonderful cause. ”

Earlier this year our team raised nearly £100 for the charity with a bake sale at their offices and Glyn Richards will himself be participating in a Tough Mudder challenge in May 2017 at Henley on Thames to raise even more money for Woking & Sam Beare Hospice.
