A ticketing agency is poised to go into liquidation, plunging around 2,000 customers into uncertainty.
Ticketline (UK) Limited is located in Wales and provides tickets for a raft of live shows, sporting fixtures and other events.
The business has been hit by a slump in trade, having increasingly struggled in a very competitive marketplace. It was confirmed this week that several members of staff had already been made redundant, although efforts to find a possible buyer are ongoing.
Administrators are now in the process of contacting customers who had previously booked tickets with the Cardiff-based company. The website Wales Online said that many were worried about the situation.
Among those caught up in the disruption is 66-year-old Beverley Vedmore, who had previously booked a trip to a Christmas market taking place in Winchester.
“All they told us was they’d let us know a month before if the trip was going ahead. But with less than a week to go we’d heard nothing,” she told the news outlet.
“So I thought I’ll just go on the website and it said it was under maintenance and I thought ‘that’s strange’.
“[Ticketline] has been there forever and a day. I went down yesterday and there was nothing in the window. But you don’t want to think the worst.”
